Job description

Production Planner 

Crewe 

£37,000 per annum 

Monday to Friday 

We are looking for an experienced Production Planner to play crucial role in ensuring that food production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and cost-effectively. Working in a dynamic and fast paced food production site you will be responsible for balancing the demands of production efficiency, cost control, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance while meeting customer needs and maintaining flexibility to adapt to changes in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement production schedules to ensure timely production and delivery of food products.
  • Coordinate with production managers and other departments to align schedules with demand forecasts.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished products to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
  • Implement inventory control systems to track stock levels, order supplies, and reduce waste.
  • Analyse sales data, market trends, and historical data to forecast future demand for food products.
  • Adjust production plans based on demand forecasts to meet customer needs.
  • Determine the required resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to meet production targets.
  • Optimize the use of resources to maximiSe efficiency and minimiSe costs.
  • Ensure that production processes comply with quality standards and food safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with quality assurance teams to implement quality control measures and address any issues.
  • Monitor production costs and implement strategies to reduce expenses without compromising quality.
  • Prepare budgets and financial reports related to production activities
  • Collaborate with various departments, such as procurement, logistics, sales, and marketing, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate production plans, changes, and updates to relevant stakeholders
  • Identify and resolve production issues, such as equipment malfunctions, supply chain disruptions, or labor shortages.
  • Implement contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure continuous production.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, inventory levels, and resource usage.
  • Generate reports on production performance, including output, quality, and efficiency metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
  • Promote a culture of safety and hygiene within the production environment.
