Our Cambridgeshire based client are looking for an experienced Production Shift Manager to join them on a full time, permanent basis.

Main Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for managing a team of production workers. This involves assigning tasks, providing guidance and training, monitoring performance, performing appraisals, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. You may also be involved in recruitment and performance evaluations. You will also be responsible for managing staff attendance, including return to work and disciplinary investigations. You will also need to take part and run your own team meetings.
- Working closely with the production planning team to develop shift schedules, allocate resources, and ensure efficient utilization of equipment and manpower. This includes planning for maintenance activities, coordinating changeovers, and minimizing downtime. KPI’s will play a big part of this role, you will need to own and drive them forward where possible.
- Ensuring product quality is a critical aspect of the role. Being responsible for implementing and maintaining quality control procedures, conducting inspections, and addressing any quality issues that arise during your shift. This may involve collaborating with the quality control team and implementing corrective actions. You will also be required to maintain GMP standards.
- Enforcing health & safety policies and procedures, conduct safety audits, and promote a culture of safety among your team members. Being responsible for investigating and reporting any accidents or incidents that occur during your shift.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement by analysing production data, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing measures to enhance productivity and efficiency. This may involve utilizing Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma principles.
- Communicating with your team, other Shift Managers, and senior management regarding production updates, issues, and performance metrics. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing shift reports and maintaining accurate documentation. This will involve fully comprehensive problem reporting along with detailed shift handovers.
- Proactively identifying and resolving issues that arise during your shift. This could include equipment breakdowns, material shortages, or workforce-related challenges. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are essential.
Skills/Experience:
FLT & Telehandler Licence (training given).
Experience of running multiple production lines.
H&S driven.
Analytical problem solving. (Route cause analysis)

Salary & Working Hours:
£45,000 per annum (+ overtime)
12 hours rotating day and night shifts
