We are currently recruiting for a Production Supervisor specialising in Metal Shop/ Assembly working with a well-known Manufacturing company with a new state of the art site based in Exeter. You will be reporting directing to the Metal Shop Production Manager and providing direct support to management for daily role and duties in the department. In absence of manger, you will be covering and leading on projects and improvements. This role is diverse and demanding and requires a self-driven, dynamic, and flexible person who has strong leadership capabilities and can instil a positive culture in their team while providing support, training and development to others.
Duties in the role:
-Co-ordinate and oversee the manufacturing of metal components and maintain quality control.
- Ensure components are manufactured to specification within the given tolerances.
- Monitor and progress work within the department in line with scheduled requirements.
-Work closely with Production Manager to ensure targets are meet and work is allocated correctly.
- Ensure all daily sheets are completed for machine maintenance, cleaning, process control and H&S
- Ensure staff are working in a safe environment and in a safe manner and that personnel training, PPE and risk assessment records are up to date and maintained
- Ensure productivity is maximised through good working practices and continuous improvement.

- Grinding, Linishing & Polishing Equipment
Person Specification:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility to carry out a wide ranging role
- Computer Literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Management experience in a sheet metal manufacturing role would be desirable
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and use a range of measuring equipment
- IOSHH training would be an advantage
- CNC experience or a mechanical background would be an advantage
- Physically fit to cope with heavy lifting
- You must be a team player who is keen to develop others
- Ability to engage with the workforce to deliver and positively manage change
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
