- Responsible for providing direction and support for the Production department to drive continuous improvement of the shift teams in terms of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery as well as coach reports to maximise their effectiveness.
- Co-ordinate and prioritise work for the team members in line with internal and external customer requirements.
- Actively participate in HSE&S, quality, and sustainability risk reduction programmes.
- Ensure HSE & quality standards are maintained.
- Lead by example and ensure the department works to agreed and documented standard operating procedures to ensure world class safety and quality are maintained.
- Ensure manufacturing shifts are adequately resourced & manufacturing targets are achieved.
- Review daily/weekly production schedules to ensure optimum service levels & maximum asset utilisation.
- Ensure that shifts collaborate effectively to guarantee optimal performance in executing production plans.
- Identify any production issues & help resolve problems.
- Nurture & develop your team.
- Communicate & cascade team objectives.
- Optimise and continuously seek to improve processes & equipment using Continuous Improvement principles and tools.
- Work proactively with the Manufacturing Manager in achievement of production and business targets/KPI’s in HSE&S, Cost Control, Machine performance & productivity, 5S & Housekeeping, Quality, Waste & Losses
- Act as a Permit to Work (PTW) authorized person for manufacturing areas.
- Act as a Site Incident Controller (SIC).
Job Requirements
- Experience of production within the process industry.
- Experience coaching & developing teams.
- Comfortable guiding teams through Continuous Improvement Projects or completing multiple Quick Kaizen type activities.
- Good knowledge of ICT.
- Relevant knowledge within the area of HSE&S.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
- Enjoys a collaborative working environment where supporting colleagues is key.
