The company operates internationally in the communications, defence, security and government services market, and is established as a world-leader in digital signal and video processing on embedded systems.
The company is building upon the commercial success achieved to date, and now needs to appoint a Production Technician to meet the increased level of production.

Job Description:
In this dual role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily manufacturing operations as a Production Supervisor including Production planning and scheduling. Your primary objective is to ensure seamless coordination between production processes, optimise resource utilisation, and meet production targets while maintaining high-quality standards
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
· Lead and supervise a team of production technicians, providing guidance, training, motivation, and support.
· Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to enhance team productivity.
· Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and updates.
Production Planning and Scheduling:
· Collaborate with the Operations team – Logistics, Programmes, Production - to develop production schedules based on demand forecasts and resource availability.
· Optimise production workflows to meet delivery deadlines and production efficiency targets.
· Manage production resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet production goals.
· Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials.
Quality Control:
· Implement and enforce quality control standards to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations.
· Address and resolve any quality issues promptly and efficiently.
Process Optimisation:
· Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in both production and planning processes.
· Work closely with the operations team to implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Safety Compliance:
· Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety guidelines and procedures.
· Monitor production metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
· Provide regular reports to management on production efficiency, output, and quality.
Qualifications/Experience
· Proven experience in both manufacturing or production supervision and production planning.
· Experience of assembling and testing high complexity electronic products.
· Familiar with ISO:9001 standards
· Knowledge of IPC A-610/IPC WHMA-A-620 would be advantageous.
· Experience with ERP/MRP applications, in particular SAP.
· Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control standards.
· Familiarity with production planning and scheduling tools.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
