SalaryThis is a newly created full time permanent role, working Monday to Thursday 7.30-4pm and Fridays 7.30-3pm offering a salary of £30-35k per annum plus benefits as below!
As Production Supervisor you will be leading a team of approx. 50 production staff including machine operators and welders to ensure the effective delivery of all production processes whilst improving quality and productivity using a hands on approach to your role. Your main duties will include:
- Ensure all employees use safe working practices at all times
- Work with manager to assess and maintain all scheduled H&S activities
- Implement H&S improvements as appropriate
- Identify and report all H&S issues in a timely manner
- Increase and promote awareness of H&S within the department
- Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times
- Ensure all new starters are fully inducted and trained for the required tasks
- Ensure all operatives are following appropriate Safe Standards of Working
- Ensure required quality standards are maintained
- Implement and maintain appropriate welding standards
- Ensure all quality checks are carried out and recorded correctly
- Develop, implement & maintain productivity KPI’s with the team
- Regularly review production performance with team members
- Seek and implement best practice for production processes
- Manage department schedule and production plan
- Effectively manage manning levels to achieve required output
- Collate and report department performance
- Understand the changing needs of staff
- Identify appropriate development and training for direct reports
- Report all maintenance issues in a timely manner
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:
- Strong experience in a Supervisor/ Assistant Manager role within a production/ manufacturing environment is essential
- Excellent people management skills with proven coaching and mentoring skills
- Confident in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) as well as ERP systems
- Adaptable and flexible in your approach, with the ability to organize, multi-task and priortise
- Good standard of numeracy and literacy
