Job Title: Production Engineer (Long-Term Temporary)
Location: Welwyn Garden City
Pay Rate: £12 an hour
Shifts: Monday to Friday
Job Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Production Engineer with soldering experience to support our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimising production processes, ensuring product quality, and maintaining efficient manufacturing practices. This is a long-term temporary position with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet customer demands and production targets.
- Utilise soldering expertise to assemble and solder components as part of the production process.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, maintenance, and supply chain to ensure smooth operations.
- Conduct root cause analysis of production issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor production metrics and KPIs to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to production teams to resolve equipment and process-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and suggest innovative ideas to streamline processes and reduce waste.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and principles, including lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and manufacturing tools.
- Excellent soldering skills with the ability to assemble and solder components accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with project management tools and techniques is a plus.
