We are currently recruiting for 4 positions, ranging from Lecturer to Professor. Our focus is on innovative, curiosity-driven research across various areas including molecular, structural, cell, and systems biology, and biochemistry. By leveraging a diverse array of model organisms, we aim to uncover new pathways critical for cell physiology, development, and survival, with potential implications for treating human diseases and advancing regenerative medicine and molecular pharmacology. Your role will significantly enhance both our cutting-edge research and our comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs. Our research outputs were ranked 4th in the UK with 95% of them considered world-leading or internationally excellent in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework. Our undergraduate teaching programmes in Molecular Biosciences (Biochemistry, Genetics, and Molecular Cell Biology) were ranked as No.1 in the UK (Guardian University Subject Guide 2023). We invite motivated individuals to apply, particularly those aiming to establish a dynamic, externally funded research program within our four broad research areas: Computational Biology, Mitochondrial Biology, Cell Homeostasis and Signalling, and Intracellular Protein Targeting, Folding, and Quality Control, harnessing the advantages of appropriate model organisms to uncover fundamental mechanisms. Successful candidates will be part of a vibrant research environment, encouraged to foster collaborations within the School and across the College, supported by a broad range of central Facilities. We value diversity and inclusivity and strongly encourage applications from under-represented or minoritized groups. Our School and The University of Glasgow have developed and are leading programmes in inclusive leadership and research culture. We support all our staff with a wide range of career specific mentorship and leadership development programmes. This is your chance to be part of a team that's shaping the future of molecular life sciences in a hugely supportive and collaborative environment.
