The Role
Condé Nast is looking for an experienced Programme Manager to lead delivery across a series of initiatives that aim to achieve Condé Nast’s ambitious goals to grow the Affiliate Commerce business. The ideal candidate has a background in programme management across technology solutions that meet business needs with subject matter expertise of e-commerce platforms and implementation. You will have excellent stakeholder management skills in complex organisations, and ability to map out and navigate delivery across dependent technology clusters. You have a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
The Affiliate Commerce business at Condé Nast has grown significantly since being established in 2019. An ongoing programme of technology initiatives has been planned to support the future growth across a programme of cross-brand front end experience optimisations to Articles, Galleries and Storefront formats as well as foundational product database and feed ingestion initiatives to set the groundwork for future scaling of the business.
What will you be doing
  • Lead regular cross-functional forums with stakeholders company-wide including our Product, Design, Engineering, Data & Product Analytics delivery teams such as daily Commerce Engineer scrums with teams across India and Germany. Lead regular forums with third party technology providers
  • Work across cross-functional Condé Nast Engineering teams to ensure accurate technical resources are allocated to deliver Product roadmaps in a short-, mid- and long-term basis. Identify and manage dependencies across Engineering team verticals
  • Collaborate with multiple third party technology providers and third party Engineering teams to define and manage scope, workflows, ensure accurate allocation of resources and manage dependencies between multiple providers and internal Condé Nast teams
  • Take ownership of regular weekly, fortnightly and monthly Stakeholder and project governance forums at a Commerce programme-level and report up to board-level Stakeholders on schedules, priorities, dependencies and risk
  • Liaise with departments where inputs are required for execution including: Finance, Legal, Editorial, Consumer Revenue, Commercial
  • Responsible for management of status reports for the program and leading proactive program communication with internal and external stakeholders aligned to the agreed program governance
  • Responsible for program, project and workstream documentation and keep it updated to review delivery performance, scoping accuracy, and productivity while working across the Product, Design & Engineering teams to define any corrective actions where risks surface
  • Lead the optimisation of IT and SDLC best practice frameworks (ITIL, LEAN, AGILE) within Programme, Product and Engineering functions
  • Responsible for programme business case development in collaboration with Consumer Revenue / Commercial and Technology owners and Finance to secure resource and funding approval and to manage programme budget end-to-end
  • Partner with Product and Engineering leads to define and track programme goals using OKRs as a framework for prioritisation, performance and outcomes
  • Partner with leads across the organisation to assist in managing resource allocation and team optimization required for effective delivery
  • Partner and drive healthy relationships with diverse business, technical & non-technical roles spanning all organisational levels
  • Drive performance across multiple teams to stay focused and moving forward on strategic goals while you aggressively manage dependencies and remove obstacles that stand in between
  • Support engagement with internal and external stakeholders to confirm business requirements and to align and prioritise these to OKRs and program goals
  • Set teams up for success by collaborating closely with them in sprint activities, providing them with relevant user stories and guiding them in estimation
  • Influence a diverse set of stakeholders with your excellent relationships, commitment to driving good decisions

Who you are:
  • You will have experience as a Technical Program / Project Manager, with proven experience managing programs and projects in an agile software development environment in the e-commerce industry using e-commerce platforms
  • Experience managing technology/product-oriented programs
  • Proven experience implementing IT best practice frameworks (ITIL, LEAN, AGILE) across Programs and Projects
  • Has supported the development of program governance across multiple project workstreams and demonstrates leadership in managing dependencies, priorities and risks across complex programs to ensure objectives and key results are delivered to meet revenue or technology goals
  • Detailed understanding of OKR frameworks and experience leading definition of OKRs and prioritisation with Product and Engineering leadership
  • Demonstrates financial awareness and attention to detail with experience managing program business cases and budgets to drive business value and cost-optimisation
  • Experience defining and prioritising work outcomes and setting delivery expectations for Project Managers/Scrum Masters
  • Self-driven, comfortable with ambiguity and motivated to deliver results-oriented outcomes
  • Highly collaborative and able to effectively communicate technical concepts to different audiences.
  • Demonstrates leadership and stakeholder management, building trusted relationships and leading and negotiating priorities and supporting informed decision-making across at all levels of the organisation
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Skilled practitioner in the use of Technical Project Management and Agile Software Development toolsets: JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheets, AirTable, Windows Suite (MPP, Excel), Google Docs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing leaders, across functions including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
  • Project Management and/or Program Management accreditation, similar to Prince 2 or PMP/PMI certification.
  • You love working with a global team and are flexible to adjust hours accordingly
  • You raise the bar on all work, and share best practices
