Job Type: Fixed Term - 18 months

This role will require some travel to other sites, please be aware if you travel to a second location on average 4 days a month, you may be liable for P11D taxation.
Salary: £57,000 - £63,000 per annum
Our client is welcoming applications from experienced Programme Managers looking to make a difference. Working within our Business Delivery & Transformation Directorate you will support the Programme Director to deliver their transformation Programme.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing effective and transparent management and control of the Transformation Programme schedule, dependencies, assumptions, risks and issues.
- Planning and designing the Programme and proactively monitoring its overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate.
- Effective coordination of the Projects and their inter-dependencies
- Managing the identification and mitigation of risks and issues
- Managing the Programme’s budget, monitoring the expenditure and costs against benefits as the Programme progresses.
- Securing appropriate skilled Project Management Resources to deliver agreed Transformation projects and associated benefits successfully within tolerance.
- Maximising the efficient allocation of resources and skills with the Projects Dossier.
- Leading, motivating, mentoring and managing the performance of the Transformation Programme delivery team.
- Managing the performance of internal and external suppliers to the Programme.
- Ensuring that the delivery of outputs or services from the projects meets Programme requirements in line with the programme’s Future Operating Model (FOM) and Projects Dossier, and is to the appropriate quality, on time and within budget.
- Facilitating the development of the FOM to ensure it will deliver NS&I business priorities, efficiencies and strategic goals.
- Managing the FOM and ensuring that the capabilities delivered are aligned with it
- Initiating extra activities and other management interventions wherever gaps in the programme are identified or issues arise.
- Day-to-day agent on behalf of the Programme Senior Responsible Owner (SRO) and Programme Director, ensuring successful delivery of the capabilities.
Skills &Qualifications
- Experience in Programme management and in Project management within the public sector or Financial Services.
- Experience of working in an outsource environment - as client and/or supplier.
- Experience in delivering Change managing multiple 3rd parties.
- Experience of managing and delivering Portfolios containing multiple concurrent initiatives, including a wide raging diversity of Projects
- Experience of managing programme budgets in excess of £20M and individual project budgets in excess of £5M
- Experience in Project/Programme Assurance
- Experience of managing Programmes and Projects in accordance with relevant public sector standards, including IPA, OGC and OJEU
- Experience working with other public sector organisations.
- Commercial experience, preferably in financial services
- Advanced Knowledge and skills in PPM Techniques and methods.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to review, challenge and utilise data.
- Risk & Issues management: experienced in effective identification, assessment and management of programme and project risks and issues in accordance with Government guidelines and best practices.
