An exciting opportunity has arisen at the National Housing Federation (NHF) for a Campaigns Manager to shape and deliver our campaigns.
The NHF is the voice of housing associations in England. We are the trade body to almost 600 housing associations, who have grown from philanthropic roots to provide 2.6 million homes to around 6 million people.
England is in a housing emergency. In every community in the country, millions of people are being let down by a failing system. But we believe that this is a crisis that can be solved. With 8.5 million people unable to access the housing they need, fixing this has never been more urgent.
As we approach the general election, The NHF is looking for an experienced professional to play a central role in our campaigning work. You will have responsibility for shaping our campaign for a long term plan for housing, mobilising the sector and the public, and looking ahead to ensure that our members and their residents needs are understood and addressed by a new Government.
You will be part of a creative and talented team who are committed to ensuring everyone has access to a decent, affordable home. Sitting within the External Affairs Team, you will work closely with the Media and Public Affairs Managers and play a key role in the cross-disciplinary campaign group.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of influencing social policy on a key issue at a critical time of change in British politics, and for an organisation with clout at the highest levels.
Key elements of the role:
- Leading on co-creating and delivering Campaigns and Influencing projects, including strategy, generating and delivering creative campaign ideas and creating materials to mobilise our members in the run up to the general election
- Leading cross organisational project teams to deliver on campaigning and Influencing goals
- Identifying, building relationships and working with key stakeholders to involve them in our work to greatest effect
- Developing and delivering fundraising strategies for key campaigning and Influencing projects
- Commissioning work from external agencies and contractors and managing programme budgets
- Analysing risk and taking a long-term view to bringing about change
- Measuring and evaluating project performance, providing recommendations for improvements and changes
The successful candidate:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Advanced understanding of tools and tactics to bring about change and communication and marketing practices to improve perceptions
- Excellent project management skills to deliver successful projects and activities
- The proven ability to develop and deliver effective campaigning strategies
- Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Equality, diversity and inclusion
The NHF has published its equality, diversity and inclusion strategy, which was co-created with staff. We are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and we value the contribution each individual makes to our work.
We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and are working to increase the diversity profile of our workforce. We are currently under-represented by ethnic minorities, people with a disability or disabilities and LGBT+, and would particularly welcome applications from people in these groups.
Disability confident committed employer
We are a disability confident committed employer and if you are a disabled person who demonstrates you meet the skills and experience we consider essential for the role, we will offer you an interview.
We are happy to consider reasonable adjustments to our recruitment process if you have a disability or have a condition that you feel may affect your performance during the recruitment process. Please email Stephanie Green, People Manager with your request or to arrange a time to discuss in more detail.
Our role profile and job advert can also be requested in large print or in accessible format.
Uploading your CV and cover letter
If you decide to apply for this role, when requested, please upload a version of your CV that does not include any personal details, such as name, gender, age etc. You should also ensure that you do not add your name at the end of the cover letter. This will help us to shortlist candidates for interview based solely on their knowledge, skills and experience.
Right to work in the UK / UK VISA Sponsorship
You must have the right to work in the UK and it is important to note that the NHF does not sponsor individuals to work in the UK.
