Programme Manager- Access (Scaffolding, Lightening Protection and Steeplejack)

Reporting to Curriculum Manager

Location: Bircham Newton

Salary: Up to £55,000 + Car Allowance + Pension

Hours: Monday to Friday (Office Hours)

Type: Permanent

Imperial Professionals are currently recruiting exclusively for a national Training Provider / College who are looking to appoint a Programme Manager with a specialism in Scaffolding based in Bircham Newton.

Role Purpose

To lead in setting the operational direction of the curriculum area (apprenticeships and industry training provision), to line manage all teaching and support teams, and to provide technical and specialist expertise to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership to ensure that the curriculum team embeds the requirements of the Ofsted EIF/SDS into everyday practice.
  • Provide operational leadership to ensure that the provision complies with all external funding and compliance rules and regulations.
  • Lead on the accreditation process and ensuring that the curriculum area complies with all external qualification awarding body requirements.
  • Lead on ensuring that the curriculum area achieves all internal quality and financial Key Performance Indicators.
  • Represent CITB Apprenticeships in external meetings and forums, promoting its reputation and building strategic partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including industry partners, employers and community organisations, to align curriculum and workforce needs.Lead on the curriculum planning process, ensuring that the curriculum area is financially viable to operate.
  • Lead on the development of high-quality curriculum resources.
  • Responsible for the physical resources, heavy plant and equipment allocated to the curriculum area.Establish and maintain a culture of excellence in teaching, learning and assessment and in line with the requirements of the Teaching, Learning and Assessment Strategy.
  • Lead on the development and implementation of the teaching observation process. Implement curriculum and quality improvement strategies where the provision does not meet expected standards.
  • Lead on the development of the curriculum area annual Self-Assessment Report and the Quality Improvement Plan.
  • Collaborate with the Quality team and participate in Desk Top Evaluations and quality reviews in line with the Quality Cycle.
  • Lead on the development and implementation of learner and vocational instructor/lecturer timetables. Lead on the learner at risk process and ensure that strategies have been implemented to ensure that all learners falling behind are quickly brought back on track.
  • Ensure you and all colleagues follow all safeguarding policies and practices and foster a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment where all learners feel safe, included and supported.
  • Ensure that all learners and colleagues work safely and always follow all health and safety rules and regulations.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with relevant industry professionals, employers and other stakeholders, to ensure that industry specialisms are kept up to date.
  • Attend relevant workshops, conferences, and training sessions to keep up to date with changing teaching, learning and assessment methodologies. Always display positive behaviours and attitudes to colleagues and learners.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Minimum of Level 3 vocational qualification directly related to the role applied for.
  • Specialist license to practice qualifications relevant to the role applied for.
  • Relevant industry experience in the construction industry in a related role.
  • Excellent knowledge of current industry practices.
  • Level 5 teaching qualification (or commitment to achieve within two years of commencing course).
  • SMSTS Certificate – or be willing to work towards.
  • Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification – or be willing to work towards.
  • Educated to level 2 or above in English and maths.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Ability to solve complex problems. Excellent verbal and written skills. Excellent organisational skills. Ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve results. Knowledge, skills, and experience in Microsoft Office 365.

Desirable

  • Higher level construction related qualification.
  • Higher level education related qualification.
  • Experience of apprenticeship delivery.
