Job Title: Project Accountant - Maternitiy Cover - 12M FTC
Salary: £40k - £45k
Location: NE London / Essex borders
Summary:
We are representing London's largest property development and management groups looking for a Project Accountant to join the team on a maternity cover basis. The role will be responsible for preparing and analysing data for large mixed use developments to ensure the board and construction teams are meeting budgets.
Developments are across London, the Home Counties and the Midlands and are a mix of residential hospitality and commercial. Previous experience within these fields is a must have.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce monthly income and expenditure summaries for each project, reviewing transactions, analysing spend and investigating variances.
- Keeping a cashflow on all projects, monitoring budgets vs actuals ensuring any anomalies are reported to the investment team.
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts for several projects and include financial insights.
- Presentation and discussion of the analysis to Project Managers & Surveyors to ensure accuracy of the information and alignment to their project cost plan.
- Business partnering with the Investment and Development, finance, and operational teams to ensure accuracy of information on each project.
- Preparation of supporting documentation to enable draw down of loans on a portfolio of bank facilities to fund ongoing developments.
- Liaising with external Solicitors and Agents and internal investments team to ensure funds are in place to complete on new purchases.
- Reporting to Joint Venture partners across all projects regularly, ensuring accuracy of information.
- Calculating and requesting funds from joint venture partners in line with agreements - providing further information as clarification where required.
- Calculating and paying profits to Joint Venture Partners where applicable on project completions.
- Ensuring accurate and consistent journals are prepared and posted.
- Raising invoices for construction projects in line with surveyor valuations and project management fees and maintenance of all necessary supporting information.
The Person:
- Previous experience within a similar role within real estate.
- Strong communicator, with experience of managing various stakeholders within and external of the finance team.
- Determination to provide solutions to improve deadlines, generate efficiencies and get things done.
