As the Project Accountant, you will report directly into the Finance Manager and will be responsible for the governance and tracking of capital expenditure and the investment programme in Cornwall.
The individual will have strong financial disciplines, the ability to understand and challenge Operational / functional performance and deliver high-quality reporting into both the business and the Group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Control of the governance process for raising of capital and the significant 5 year investment programme in Cornwall.
- Ensuring adherence to process and tracking of spend versus budget along with post implementation review and tracking of benefits realisation.
- Control the overhead expenditure analysis and control reporting. Work closely with budget holders to control spends and ensure costs are in line with budgets / forecasts.
- Working with the Finance Manager and Finance team to ensure timely and accurate reporting in line with company deadlines and policies.
- Working with the Finance Manager to ensure appropriate processes and control documentation is in place.
- Journal, accrual and prepayment preparation and review where applicable.
- Assist Finance Manager with the preparation of budgets and 3 year plans.
- Provide cover for various reports produced by the finance team.
Essential Experience / Qualifications and Attributes Required:
- CIMA / ACCA qualified / finalist.
- Extensive knowledge and appreciation of manufacturing processes.
- System 21, MS AX
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and questioning ability
- Confident communicator with financial and non-financial colleagues
- Able to challenge at all levels
- Strong IT skills across standard operating systems
- Good literacy and numeracy needed and excellent attention to detail
- Ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders
- Some flexibility required to manage working hours to meet the demands of the business
