About Our Client

Our client is a well-renowned business in the manufacturing industry based in Chichester who are looking for a Project Accounting Manager (Internal Control) to join their accountancy team.

Project Accounting Manager (Internal Control) - Chichester
Finance Projects:
· Collaborate with department managers on Digitalization initiatives, working to identify and implement optimal solutions that enhance efficiency. Contribute to the transformation of the department and the broader Finance function, striving to deliver state-of-the-art digital finance and compliance solutions.
· Identify and execute additional finance projects to address evolving needs.
· Develop and manage comprehensive project plans as necessary.
· Prepare supporting information for relevant project working circles, steering circles, and board meetings.
· Maintain project risk registers and take proactive measures to mitigate risks.
· Provide support to project teams, offering technical advice on compliance and interpretation matters. Identify and contribute to solutions as required.
Internal Control Management:
· Advocate for Internal Control Systems (ICS) to foster a culture of improvement within the business. Assist in instilling ownership of critical control activities in relevant business areas to uphold and enhance the control environment.
· Monitor the control environment using provided ICS tools, escalating deviations as necessary. Support with recommendations to address gaps and minimize risk.
· Conduct annual risk assessments of group accounts, prioritising issues and setting the roadmap for the upcoming year.
· Ensure that process and control owners review key processes and controls annually, conducting effective testing of their efficiency.
· Produce the department's monthly dashboard to enhance visibility of the ICS position and identify improvement opportunities. Modify the dashboard as needed.
· Prepare insightful quarterly reports for the board, presenting the latest status and open recommendations for enhancing the control environment.
· Provide ICS coaching and guidance to departments for new business processes with financial implications. Ensure the implementation of appropriate process and control documentation, validating the effectiveness of identified controls.
· Lead significant ICS improvement projects (e.g., SAP User Access), indirectly managing colleagues from various departments to achieve organization-wide outcomes.
· Offer support to internal audit activities as required.

The Successful Applicant

Financial accounting and business planning experience within a manufacturing and international sales environment
Qualified Accountant with significant PQE would be an advantage
