Job description

Are you passionate about the environment and want to make a difference? Do you want to work with communities to reduce their environmental impact and achieve net zero?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic candidate to join PECT, working on our innovative new project, Peterborough Accelerating Net Zero (PANZ).

Local low-carbon solutions are essential to achieve net zero, and cities can lead the way for that change. Many have plans to achieve Net Zero, but need the skills, resources, and funding mechanisms to implement them.

PANZ aims to develop practical tools and approaches to enable cities to identify, coordinate and facilitate the delivery of a range of low carbon measures at speed and to scale, starting with Peterborough.

The project is being delivered in partnership with Peterborough City Council, Energy Systems Catapult, Nordic Energy, EdenSeven, Cambridgeshire County Council and PECT.

About PECT:

For 30 years PECT has been developing and delivering projects which help to protect and enhance the environment. Our vision is for sustainable places where the natural environment is healthy, communities are involved in their area, health and well-being is improved for all and resource use is responsible and does not compromise the needs of others, now and into the future.

PECT is committed to high staff satisfaction and offers a range of benefits including hybrid and flexible working hours, competitive pay, 25 days annual leave and opportunities for career development.

100% of the team would recommend PECT as a great place to work

Purpose of role:

As a Project Coordinator and Marketing Officer, you will support the project team in delivering the Peterborough Accelerating Net Zero initiative, a community-led energy project that aims to reduce carbon emissions and promote renewable energy sources.

You will work closely with the Project Manager, contractors, stakeholders and community groups to ensure the project is delivered on time, on budget and to a high quality.

With oversight from the PECT Marketing and Communications Manager, you will also be responsible for supporting and implementing the marketing strategy for the project, including managing the website, PR, social media, newsletters, events and other promotional activities.

You will have excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, as well as a passion for sustainability and innovation.
