There is currently a unique exciting opportunity for a Project Delivery ManagerInfrastructure Major Projects. In this role you will ensure the Customer’s requirements are achieved through delivery and integration of all of projects, maintaining high accuracy of delivery, cost, and quality.  Working with the Heads of Delivery, you will deliver and integrate critical infrastructure projects, to enable the delivery of product through development into manufacture.

The opportunity will allow you to be a key stakeholder in setting annual and long terms priorities for Rolls Royce Submarines, with accountability for budget, and on time delivery.  As a customer facing role, you will provide direct reporting into the Customer organisation, maintaining and developing our relationship that we are trusted to deliver excellence.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location.  It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement.  As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.

What you will be doing:

With this exciting opportunity you will beaccountable for developing and implementing the Project delivery strategy. You will also:

  • Define and acquire the means to achieve the Project requirements, delivering high quality project outcomes on time, and to budget.  You will integrate all project work across control accounts to deliver the Programme objectives, managing risk at the Programme level.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain documentation to deliver the requirements of the Project & Programme, and ensure the full scope is delivered through all associated projects and work packages; this will include integrated project artefacts, such as management plans, schedules, trackers, etc. providing information and recommendations as necessary to make management decisions in a timely manner with the key stakeholders.
  • Be responsible for monitoring, controlling, and reporting all aspects of Project performance, providing critical assessment of underlying project variances and the impact on the Project outcomes.  You will ensure corrective actions are put in place to deliver key performance milestones.
  • Influence and negotiate with work stream leads in relation to the project scopes of work; you will manage all changes to the Programme and projects utilising allocated undistributed budget and robust risk management principles.
  • Manage the Project Team, setting clear objectives, help facilitate teamwork, have clear communications and oversee performance, while adjusting workload as needed to get the most out of our people.
  • Develop / implement Project Management good practice and provide guidance to all teams to enable them to manage projects effectively using the correct systems / tools / methods.

  • Be degree qualified or have equivalent industrial experience. You will ideally hold a Project Management qualification, with at least 7 years’ experience in project management.
  • Have experience in all stages of a project lifecycle and experience of working in multi-functional teams, with a track record in delivering one or more of the stages.
  • A good communicator, capable of using a variety of media, across an array of audiences, to achieve clarity, direction, support and understanding.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place. 

Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must hold a UK nationality. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
