We have an exciting opportunity for a Projects Director to join the Professional Project Services team within Mitie's Communities division. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in managing a team of project managers, overseeing capital works across our sector portfolio. Your mission is to drive growth and excellence in project delivery. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring contracts maximize their revenue potential through lifecycle and capital projects. Safety, quality, and successful project outcomes will be your focus.
As the Projects Director, your primary focus will be on driving growth and excellence in project delivery within the Local Government & Education sector. You'll lead a team of project managers, overseeing capital works across our portfolio. Your strategic leadership will ensure that projects align with contract requirements and governance. Additionally, you'll play a visible role in boosting client confidence through intelligent delivery solutions and optimized resources.
Furthermore, you'll champion decarbonization solutions in every project, emphasizing their benefits to clients. Your role involves developing resource plans to meet program demands and managing direct reports. As part of the wider Project and Professional Services network, you'll contribute to shaping and continually improving our function across the Mitie Group.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of project delivery within the construction industry, particularly in local government and education sectors. This experience includes working on PFI (Private Finance Initiative) contracts. You should be commercially strong and financially focused, fully conversant with all applicable legislation, regulations, and standards.
Your expertise should extend to Professional Services and Construction contracts, and you should be adept at change management. Additionally, you must have experience in management, including the appointment of consultants, sub-contractors, and supply chain partners. Demonstrated success in people management is essential.
As a deadline-driven professional, you thrive in fast-paced environments, delivering accurate results within tight timeframes. Your strategic leadership will play a pivotal role in identifying and developing project opportunities, contributing to portfolio growth.
While you work independently, you also excel as an integral team member. Building long-term relationships with clients and internal stakeholders is a key aspect of this role.
