Job description

Are you an experienced Project Director that would be interested in joining a leading principal UK contractor in the Yorkshire region?

Due to a prestigious commercial contract award, there is an opportunity for an experienced Project Director to take the lead & project delivery from the pre construction stage through the bid & design stage, to procurement & operational delivery to handover.

You will report directly into the Operations Director and will be required to work across the Yorkshire region on a commercial & banking contract that will involve several major refurbishments, new builds, mechanical & electrical upgrading and heavy civils work. You will take the lead operationally managing a cross functional team of Project & Site Managers, Design, and operational support staff.

Typical projects range major refurbishments, cut & carve, mechanical & electrical upgrades to new builds, structural alterations & heavy civils works working around public & live environments across a wide range of industry sectors.

Experience / Qualifications Required:

  • Proven track record as a Project Director in a larger / tier 1 contractor environment. Ideally working in live environments across a range of sectors.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to lead large operational cross functional teams from pre-construction stage, subcontractor design management to procurement to delivery.
  • NVQ Level 7 , MCIOB, Black Manager & Professional or White AQP or CSCS Card, First Aid, SMSTS and other relevant industry tickets.
  • Thorough understanding of RIBA stage process management
  • Excellent people management skills with the ability to motivate project teams to work to strict programmes and deadlines & exceed client expectations.
  • Excellent planning & time management skills with the ability to think ahead & manage risk and make decisions.
