The role
As a Project Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll have the ability to directly contribute to the successful delivery of our complex, high profile and mission critical projects and programmes, supporting and enhancing our customers' defence and security capabilities and critical assets, meeting their requirements of value for money, increased availability, modernisation and flexibility.
Day to day, you'll:
- Develop and maintain schedules for delegated tasks and activities, including identification of critical paths
- Develop and maintain risk and opportunity registers for delegated tasks and activities, including management of mitigation actions
- Develop and maintain cost estimates for delegated tasks and activities, including production of cost models for gate reviews
- Be responsible for the document management systems for nominated projects, including trade controls; ensuring accountability, traceability and archive for all documents.
- Be responsible for material and subcontract requisitions, receipting and kitting for delegated tasks and activities
This role is full time, working thirty-five hours per week and will be based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard with hybrid working from home arrangements.
Essential experience of the Project Engineer:
- Good familiarity with MS Office software
- Experience working in teams
- Able to show drive and desire to make a daily positive impact
- Organised, tasks orientated mindset
- Procurement - raising requisitions, tracking purchase orders
Qualifications for the Project Engineer:

Please note that this position is subject to enhanced national security vetting. The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements (this may include obtaining SC, NNPPI or Developed Vetting (DV) level of security clearances).
