Job Summary
As a Controls & InstrumentationProject Engineer, you will assume responsibility for the comprehensive development of systems and the preparation of control and instrumentation deliverables throughout the entire project life cycle. This includes design development, creation of schematics, component selection, software development, instrument selection, support for sub-contract manufacturing, and overseeing the installation and commissioning of finalized control systems.
Your role will involve the generation of detailed specifications, instrument lists, IO schedules, cable schedules, cable block diagrams, termination drawings, hook-up drawings, layout drawings, and test procedures.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, capable of working autonomously, and possess evident leadership qualities. Demonstrating confidence in your ability to deliver projects punctually and within budget is crucial. We seek an experienced C&I engineer who aligns with most of these requirements.
This position requires occasional international travel to job sites and offshore locations.

What will I do in this role?
- Apply your knowledge of C&I related British and international standards
- Prepare & review full C&I project documentation including functional descriptions, specifications, wiring/loop diagrams, P&IDs and others
- Utilise programmable logic controllers (PLC) including both hardware and software
- Design & implement industrial communication networks and its protocols including Profibus, Profinet, Modbus TCP
- Specify, install and commission instrumentation
- Design & Implementation of ATEX - Ex instrumentation, devices, and its installation requirements
- Produce technical reports, and to clearly explain complex technical C&I related issues
- Justify the design changes to meet good practice and other requirements
- Attend locations worldwide and offshore installations for site surveys and system commissioning
- Monitor all on site activities including installation, commissioning, and site acceptance testing (SAT)
- Mentor and support other members of the engineering team
- Innovate, think laterally and implement processes
- Engage with, and influence, a team of professionals

Desirable Experience
- Ability to fault-find and modify programs in TIA Portal, Simatic Manager & WINCC SCADA V7/ 8 or equivalent
- Previous site works experience
- Be able to generate C&I schematic drawings in AutoCAD LT
- Hazardous area experience
