Support Worker

We are seeking a Resilient Young People's Support Worker to join our clients dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional resilience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting young people through various challenges. You will work closely with individuals , providing guidance, advocacy, and practical support to help them navigate personal, social, and educational issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people, fostering trust and respect.
• Provide one-on-one support, mentoring, and guidance to young people facing challenges such as family issues, mental health concerns, and educational difficulties.
• Conduct assessments to identify the needs and strengths of each young person, developing personalized support plans.
• Facilitate group sessions and workshops on topics such as life skills, self-esteem, and healthy relationships.
• Advocate on behalf of young people, liaising with schools, social services, healthcare providers, and other relevant agencies.
• Monitor and record progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date case notes and reports.
• Respond to crises and emergencies, providing immediate support and intervention as needed.
• Encourage and promote the participation of young people in community activities and services.
• Stay informed about current issues and best practices related to youth support and development.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative programs and initiatives.

Qualifications:

• A relevant qualification in social work, youth work, counseling, or a related field.
• Proven experience working with young people in a supportive role.
• Exceptional resilience, with the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with young people from diverse backgrounds.
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping young people overcome obstacles.
• Knowledge of local resources and services available to young people.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
