What you will do
Working as part of the Contract Engineering team on technical design aspects of projects on a wide range of products and systems. Also providing support to the Systems Test team.
How you will do it
Designing solutions from clients’ job specifications
Providing technical support to Project Managers
Meeting project and test deadlines
Liaising with Development department to meet any job-specific design requirements.
Liaising with Production department
Liaising with Clients
System test and fault finding
Using bespoke software to configure the system.
Testing of wired and PCB assemblies following test procedures
Progressing to testing of systems to full functionality for factory acceptance test or delivery
Ensuring that wiring, mechanical construction and PCBs on assembled equipment are consistent and relevant to drawings or parts lists
Investigation and resolution of faults to component level
Working with other test engineers and project managers to keep equipment completion deadlines on target
Maintaining appropriate departmental documentation
What we look for
Essential
Electronics qualification
Hands-on experience of electronics design & test
Ability to liaise with internal and external customers, both in the UK and overseas
Ability to plan workload and be self-motivated.
Ability to work to cost limitations to ensure profitability of projects.
Competent written communications to produce manuals, test schedules, quality procedures, etc.
Ability to fault find to component level.
PC literacy
Ability to work on own initiative, whilst also following required procedures
Ability to learn programming.
