Project Engineer
Job Role
Manage a defined project from the Sales Enquiry phase through to definition, preparation, mobilisation, installation, and commissioning as outlined in the Project Management Process. This role operates under the Group Project & Asset Management team in collaboration with key functions such as Product Line, Global Operational locations, and Product Development.
Key Duties
HSEQ:
- Implement robust HSEQ performance aligned with Group HSEQ policies and programs.
- Continuously monitor HSEQ program effectiveness, proactively identifying and implementing necessary changes.
- Maintain high awareness of HSE targets and objectives, communicating and managing them effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all company, client, job-specific, and regulatory procedures and legislation.
- Proactively communicate any concerns or opportunities for improvement to the Group program.
Identify:
- Assist with the technical and commercial preparation of tenders and proposals internally.
- Attend initial sales meetings with potential clients to provide technical assistance.
Qualify & Solve:
- Coordinate global visits to rigs, sites, and installations for survey purposes.
- Liaise with rig/installation personnel regarding the utilities required for company equipment.
- Measure and evaluate existing rig equipment as necessary.
- Create sketches and gather necessary information.
- Develop a Survey report for a Drilling Waste Management Solution.
- Review and approve all drawings produced by the Product Development team.
Prepare:
- Prepare Project costing sheet.
- Develop Project mobilisation and installation plans with the Global Projects & Asset Manager.
- Conduct kick-off and regular project update meetings internally and externally.
- Prepare Installation Workpack and brief installation crews before mobilising.
Mobilise:
- Promote and adhere to company HSEQ guiding principles.
- Coordinate the installation phase to ensure successful project completion within parameters and customer satisfaction.
- Supervise installations on-site, taking overall responsibility for the installation phase and handover to Operations.
Close/Demobilisation:
- Complete Post Job briefs, lessons learned, and handover to the Local operations team.
- Ensure NAVISON is up to date and all aspects are closed.
- Develop demobilisation plan and Workpack for the Operations team to execute.
- Review and close AFEs.
New Build Asset / Major Overhaul Projects:
- Manage and coordinate all activities for New Build Assets or major Overhauls where assigned.
- Arrange meetings to evaluate and report project progress against plan.
- Identify and monitor potential project risks, delays, and issues.
- Implement solutions to mitigate potential risks, delays, or issues.
- Ensure document requirements are completed on time.
- Adhere strictly to the Inspection and Test Plan.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree/HNC/HND Level or equivalent in a Technical or HSEQ discipline.
- Proficient with Microsoft Project.
- Experience in Project Engineering/management within the oil and gas sector.
- Experience leading a team of technicians/experts.
- Understanding of relevant legislation and regulations.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment certification requirements for the Oil & Gas sector.
- Competent in reading and understanding Engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of temporary mobile Equipment.
- Proficient in recording data using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Remuneration
The salary for this position is £45-55K DOE, plus additional benefits.
