PCS is the Public and Commercial Services Union, representing many thousands of members working in the civil service and related areas.
A vacancy has arisen for a Funding Officer, to work in our Finance team. The duties include processing transactions and payments, reviewing and analysing funding bids, maintaining the corporate travel sectors system and communicating with union branches, groups, funding committee and PCS internal audit department. You will set up statistical systems to produce reports and analyse the information.
The role
Managing a small team, you will be responsible for allocating work, undertaking inductions, appraisals, 1 to 1’s and identifying training and development needs for the team, whilst proactively promoting team working. You will maintain a high level of accuracy and adhere to deadlines to ensure compliance with the department’s service level agreement.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a Finance environment, processing payments, preparing and analysing reports and using financial accounting software and Excel. You will have experience of people management and will be committed to your own and your team’s ongoing development.

Salary and Location
· Band 3, London, Spine points 33-29 or Regional Spine points 37-33
· London Salary: £41,637 p.a. rising to £46,524 p.a. or Regional Salary: £37,530 p.a. rising to £41,637 p.a.
· Based: London (Clapham) or Leeds.
