Project Management Degree Level 6 Apprenticeship
The role
Our Advisory and Programme Delivery (APD) unit delivers management services in all the sectors that Mott MacDonald operate in – the built environment, defence, energy, water, transportation, education, health and care.
The Unit delivers services to projects ranging in scale and complexity up to £20bn, through the technical disciplines of programme management, Project Management, project controls, scheduling, cost management, estimating, infrastructure finance, management consulting, digital consulting and education, health and care management.
The role
As part of our growing apprenticeship offering, we have an exciting opportunity to join the organisation as a Project Management Degree Apprentice (Level 6). An apprenticeship is a paid job where you will learn and gain valuable on the job experience, whilst also completing classroom-based learning with a college, university or training provider which leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
Job description:
- To contribute to projects within the division
- To support the assistant project managers and project managers in -
- monitoring and tracking progress
- Identifying and managing risks, opportunities, issues and dependencies
- Reporting and managing performance and project status
- Producing and maintaining project documentation
- Arranging and organising project meetings including agenda's, attendees, taking and producing minutes and action logs
- Identify areas for improvement, compliance risks and areas of good practice within the wider team in the NW
- proactively engage with Mott MacDonalds internal systems to build a level of expertise in there use to identify ways in which you can work in a more connected way with colleagues across the Global company
- An apprentice will be supporting in learning the skills requiring to be successful in this role and would not be expected to pick up all of the above from day 1.
- Travelling within the working day may be required occasionally, which will be on top of any travel required as part of your apprenticeship studies.

- Confidence in presenting to and speaking to others.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Able to effectively manage workload in a busy and dynamic environment.
- Willing to take ownership of issues and work autonomously to find solutions.
- An apprentice will be supporting in learning the skills requiring to be successful in this role and would not be expected to pick up all the above from day 1.

Application Process:
Our application window will be open until December 31st before we temporarily close all roles. When applying you will need to complete a short form application and will complete an online assessment.
Once completed and if successful your application will be reviewed in January. If you are selected for an interview, you will be notified and this will be booked via Teams or in person. Offers will then go out to join us in September but will remain subject you to achieving the necessary grades.
Entry Grades:
You will need the following to apply for this position:
- GCSE Maths grade 4 or C or equivalent
- GCSE English grade 4 or C or equivalent
- A total of 5 GCSE passes.
- We also ask that you have or will achieve A Level grades BCC or equivalent (98+ UCAS points).
