DWP are looking to fill 20 Project Management Office Manager roles within Change and Resilience Group in some of the largest programmes across Government. Details about the various programmes in our Group can be found in the Candidate Information Pack.

As a Project Management Office Manager, you will play a key role at the heart of our projects and programmes in helping enable successful delivery of Change, and the opportunities we have available are challenging and within a varied environment. You will require excellent stakeholder management skills to positively engage others and build capability.
You will provide support to projects to remain on track and organise appropriate governance at different points in the project lifecycle to ensure successful delivery across DWP’s Change Portfolio. You will implement and share best practice across different programmes as well support the development and application of project procedures, tools and techniques. In return, you will join a flourishing, supportive community delivering some of the largest transformation programmes in the UK.

What are the role responsibilities?

While no two days will be the same, the responsibilities may vary from role to role but include:

  • Leading a small PMO team to deliver a range of products in support of the wider programme, ensuring individuals are supported and developed.
  • Providing end to end planning and reporting.
  • Analysing and co-ordinate a wide range of data and information to inform preparation of reports to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting and arranging assurance reviews at appropriate points in the programme lifecycle.
  • Providing secretariat to senior governance meetings.
  • Identifying impact of Cross Departmental and new ministerial initiatives.
  • Preparing business cases and track benefits realisation.
  • Identifying, developing and managing project risks, issues and interdependencies, escalating as appropriate.
  • Collaborating and building strong working relationships with colleagues from across DWP including Digital, Policy and Operational Delivery ensuring the level of engagement is appropriate.

Change and Resilience Group (CRG) lead on the Department’s portfolio of Change programmes and projects.
