The role
As a Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll take accountability for the design, manufacturing and delivery of equipment for an international submarine programme.
Day-to-day, you’ll:
- Lead a team and be responsible for planning, motivation, scheduling, other team collaboration, conflict management, negotiations, appraisals etc and be accountable for profit/loss and health and safety
- Be involved in bid management, cost estimating and proposal development
- Carry out line management duties and developing teams
- Be responsible for supply chain and sub-contract management
This role is full time, 37-hours per week and hybrid working arrangements with two days in the office/onsite and three days working from home.
Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. We are happy to consider flexible, blended working, including part-time, condensed hours, and job sharing. Please ask about alternative patterns of work at interview.
Essential experience of the Project Manager
- Prior experience in a customer facing role
- Knowledge of project controls tools and how these tools operate to provide key information for decision making
- Commercially and financially astute, with a challenging mind-set
- Excellent interpersonal skills, communicating effectively with colleagues at all levels and with external bodies
- Looking to progress onto larger and more complex projects
Qualifications for the Project Manager
- PMQ or PPQ (desirable) or equivalent

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
