Project Manager

Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We are actively seeking a highly experienced and professional Project Manager to join the Planned Maintenance and Minor Improvement (PMMI) Project Delivery team who support a portfolio of schools across West Sussex.

With a strong background in construction/property project management, you will be responsible for overseeing complex projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Salary: £43,516 to £46,549 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: Full Time (37 hours per week - Monday to Friday)
Location: County Hall, West Street, Chichester, PO19 1RQ (Hybrid and Flexible Working) This role offers hybrid working arrangements and will require you to work from county council office buildings and make regular site visits, as well as the flexibility of home working as appropriate. Final arrangements to be confirmed with successful candidate.

All West Sussex County Council (WSCC) employees have a WSCC location as their contractual work location, however we do operate a 'Smarter working' approach, this is something that you agree locally with your manager, for what works best for you, your role and your team. More details will be shared once you start working.

You will need to be able to travel independently around the county, including to areas that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Pool cars and pool bikes available.

The Opportunity

We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can handle multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities are a must, as you'll be the go-to person for resolving any issues that may rise.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle, from planning and budgeting to execution and completion. You will collaborate with various stakeholders including the Council's outsourced Multi-Disciplinary Consultant (MDC) and WSCC services to ensure smooth operations and successful project delivery.

To excel in this position, you will need a solid background in construction and property project management, with a strong focus on scheduling, budgeting, and quality control. Your exceptional organisational and leadership skills will be key in keeping projects on track and within budget.
