On behalf of Tesco Bank, AMS are now looking for a Project Manager to work in their Pet Insurance team for an initial contract length of 6 months. The role would be hybrid, ideally the candidate would be able to travel to Edinburgh on a regular basis.

Job description - the role
Tesco Bank's insurance is managed by RSA insurance (underwriting, call centre, etc.) RSA has announced the sale of their pet insurance business. Tesco Bank are now required to perform a migration over to this new vendor. This is a greenfield project for which you would be responsible for the full scope across it's expected 6-12 months lifecycle. You will be responsible for:
- Work Scheduling and Allocation: Assign short-term work schedules to a team of subordinates in order to achieve expectations while following established timelines.
- Leadership and Direction: Explain the local action plan to support team members in their understanding of what needs to be done and how this relates to the broader business plan and the organization's strategy mission and vision; motivate people to achieve local business goals.
- Performance Management: Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve personal performance. OR Monitor the performance of the team; allocate work and review completion, take appropriate corrective action to ensure timeliness and quality; contribute to formal individual performance management and appraisal.
- Project Management: Plan and manage the delivery of projects within an area of professional expertise, using an appropriate project management methodology to give assurance that intended outcomes are achieved.
- Project Assurance: Carry out delegated activities to support the delivery of within-project and independent assurance reviews to give senior stakeholders confidence that the project can deliver to time, budget, and quality.
- Project Risk and Issue Management: Identify and evaluate risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints associated with the project, escalating where appropriate. Where necessary, develop, agree on, and implement solutions to overcome these.
- Project Stakeholder Engagement: Plan and deliver stakeholder engagement activities to develop effective project working relationships and to ensure that stakeholder needs and concerns are identified and met.
- Project Resource Management: Manage the deployment of project resources, proactively managing project costs, providing forecasts, and presenting variances with narrative at appropriate review points to ensure effective utilisation.
- Project Deliverables: Plan and lead the delivery of a range of information gathering, analysis, and stakeholder consultation activities and specify, negotiate, and agree on project deliverables.
- Project Reporting and Reviews: Manage the project review process; provide stakeholders with accurate and relevant information and key recommendations at agreed review points to enable them to evaluate progress and agree on change.
- Improvement / Innovation: Identify shortcomings and suggest improvements to existing processes, systems and procedures, then delivers a plan for a small element of a change management program with guidance from a project/program manager.
- Supplier Management: Monitor, review, and highlight any gaps in the performance of a portfolio of smaller suppliers to recommend and ensure delivery of improvements by suppliers or to renegotiate or change contract/supplier.
Candidate Profile: Key accountabilities, skills & experience
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in a similar sized organisation.
- Experience working in the insurance industry including knowledge of insurance policy systems, policy administration systems, underwriting, product information documents, etc.
- Migration project experience.
- Vendor management experience (desirable).
