Responsibilities of the Interim Project Manager
As a Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in contributing to allocated projects, likely focusing on research projects but could also include projects that are part of the IASB's due process. You will be involved in researching existing material on project topics, following IASB's discussions, preparing high-quality technical papers for the Endorsement Board, and participating in presentations to stakeholders. Your ability to work effectively within a team and deliver results under tight deadlines will be key to your success in this role.
* Assist with researching existing material on project topics, including from other standard setters and relevant literature
* Follow IASB's discussions, assist with the analysis of IASB's proposals and decisions
* Prepare and present high-quality technical papers for the Endorsement Board as part of a project team
* Prepare or provide input for impact assessments appropriate to the stage of the project
* Help prepare and participate in presentations to stakeholders
What the successful candidate will bring
The ideal Project Manager will bring a wealth of knowledge from the financial reporting environment of listed companies, along with an interest in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). You will have experience in technical accounting work or standard-setting or relevant academic research. Your strong written and oral communication skills will enable you to interact effectively with stakeholders both within the UK and internationally. Your ability to work collaboratively within a team and deliver results under tight deadlines will be key to your success in this role.
* Possess a relevant professional qualification and at least two years post qualification experience or a higher degree with relevant academic experience
* Knowledge of the financial reporting environment of listed companies and a demonstrable interest in IFRS
* Experience in technical accounting work or standard-setting or relevant academic research
* Good written and oral communication skills
* Ability to interact effectively and respectfully with UK and international stakeholders
* Ability to work as part of a team and deliver to tight deadlines
