We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our clients ever-evolving team based at Thorpe Park in Leeds West Yorkshire.
Your role as Project Manager is to deliver the clients groundbreaking Bradford Low Carbon Hydrogen (BLCH) project which will be the UK’s largest, state of the art hydrogen production facility, delivering low carbon hydrogen fuel to serve both light and heavy goods vehicles. The project is being delivered under a Joint Venture Agreement between the client and their project partners at Hygen and is backed by the government funded Hydrogen Production Business Model.
The Project Manager will have experience in the end-to-end delivery of large infrastructure construction projects in the energy industry. The successful candidate will support the Joint Venture on all project co-ordination, project management, financial and commercial matters and will be responsible for meeting with project partners, stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors from initial design through to delivery.

The daily duties will be as follows:
• Establish and maintain close relationships with clients, partners, stakeholders, and contractors throughout all
stages of the project execution.
• Ensure the project is managed in accordance with best practice and in line with the governments Low Carbon
Hydrogen Agreement (LCHA).
• Ensure all health and safety risks are identified and managed and the project is executed in line with relevant
legislation, regulations and the client’s health and safety policies and procedures.
• Assemble and co-ordinate both internal and external resources as well as 3rd party suppliers including
contractors, technical services, manufacturers, and suppliers.
• Support to the detailed design of the re-fuelling facility incorporating all key disciplines of engineering.
• Develop and update the detailed project plan to track progress ensuring all key milestones are delivered on
time, within scope and budget.
• Manage project delivery and commercial risks throughout the design and construction phases of the project.
• Provide regular progress reports to the client’s senior management team, its partners and stakeholders.
• Overseeing the construction activities to ensure staff and contractors are working to the highest safety and
quality standards.
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
The successful candidate will have the following:
• Excellent knowledge of the gas and wider energy industry within the UK.
• Ideally be a member of IGEM (MIGEM), Tech. Eng or Incorporated Engineer (iEng)
• Good knowledge of the challenges of climate change and decarbonisation
• Project management qualification advantageous.
• Proven ability to liaise at a professional level with clients, project partners and stakeholders.
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of appropriate HS&E procedures and legislative requirements relevant to the energy/gas industry.
• Experience of building, leading and management of construction project teams.
• Ability to manage contractors and suppliers to prepare quotations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organisational and leadership skills.
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
• Proficient in use of IT systems, including MSOffice suite.
