Job Description
The TMD Project Manager’s role will evolve during the lifecycle of the Temporary Means and Devices (TMD) in client scope and combine project management knowledge with project delivery skills. At the early stages you will contribute to building the TMD process among relative stakeholders and developing the TMD procedures and work instruction. Following this, you will manage TMD task orders according to the TMD requirements.
The key task of the TMD PM is to turn the TMD requirements into reality and make sure that the function of TMD in line with the TMD requirements, with the support from Commissioning TMD PM, Equipment Project Manager and external suppliers etc.
You will need to:
Accountable to Completion and Handover Manager in the HPC Project teamReceive the Commissioning TMD Request Register from Commissioning and review the listed TMD.If needed, request Commissioning TMD PM to clarify any technical and contractual issues.Split the TMD Register into discipline scopes, such as: Electrical TMD, I&C TMD, Mechanical TMD and HVAC TMD etc. And then send the TMDs to the relative Project management discipline, Senior Project Managers for the review and collect their comments, and reply to them with the support of Commissioning TMD PM.Prepare the Design Task Orders for those TMDs which need design.Send the Task Order to the proper Design Supplier, with the support from EPM and Supply Chain.Clarify and reply to the comments or suggestions from Design suppliers, with the support from Commissioning.Perform the second review on the design outputs and feedback the comments if needed.Approve the detailed design outputs from Design Suppliers.Prepare the Procurement & Manufacturing Task Orders for those TMDs which need buying and making.Send the Task Order to the proper P&M Supplier, with the support from EPM and Supply Chain.Clarify and reply to the comments or suggestions from P&M suppliers, with the support from Commissioning.Arrange the TMD delivery from the P&M supplier to Junction 24 Warehouse.Record the information of the TMD in Asset Suite 9 system.Prepare the installation Task OrderReply the clarification requestReceive the notice of TMD removal from Commissioning and inform the supplier to remove the TMD and to return to the design content.
Qualifications
Essential
Strong technical background in mechanical, industrial or process engineering.Degree qualified in a relevant science or engineering subject.Experience of working in the nuclear industry, or an alternative regulated industry (e.g., oil & gas, electricity).Experience of installation, commissioning, maintenance, or operation support.An awareness of relevant legal and regulatory framework and compliance requirements.Ability to provide technical expertise and knowledge to troubleshooting / fault finding activities.An ability to build effective networks, negotiate and influence effectively towards the achievement of business objectives.An ability to work within a multi-disciplined engineering team to proactively manage and resolve design/procurement/manufacturing/installation/commissioning issues as they arise.
Desirable
Chartered Engineer, or equivalent professional standing.Experience in the design, installation, commissioning, maintenance of nuclear power plants.Demonstrable history of working within safety and quality cultures.Experience leading technical teams.Understanding of UK licensing and other statutory processes, the role of the licensee and the principles of an Intelligent Customer organisation.Commercial awareness with an understanding of the impact of change.Experience of working within teams in a programme-driven project environment.Familiarity with safety case process and design substantiation.
