Project Quantity Surveyor - Independent Residential Developer
Location: Swansea, United Kingdom

Forward-thinking independent residential developer, committed to delivering high-quality, innovative housing solutions. With a strong focus on sustainable development, they are embarking on an exciting new journey to create a distinctive newbuild apartment project that will redefine urban living in Swansea, and looking for a site-based project QS to deliver the project.

Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join their team and play a key role in the successful delivery of our new apartment project. The successful candidate will bring their expertise in quantity surveying to ensure cost efficiency, budget compliance, and overall project success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Management: Effectively manage and control project costs throughout all phases, from pre-construction to post-completion.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and maintain accurate project budgets, providing regular forecasting updates to stakeholders.
  • Contract Administration: Administer contracts, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks while maintaining positive relationships with contractors and suppliers.
  • Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimise project costs without compromising quality.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports for project stakeholders, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and manage risks associated with cost, contracts, and project delivery.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and successful project delivery.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in residential development projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost control.
  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in using relevant software, such as cost estimating and project management tools.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is desirable.
