I am pleased to be working with a premium engineering firm as they search for a Project Traffic Engineer.
As a Project Traffic Engineer, you will be involved in various complex and iconic transportation projects throughout UK and abroad.
The role is best suited to a motivated individual with several years’ consultancy experience that is looking to advance their career within a dynamic business.
Our client is ideally seeking a Project Traffic / Transportation Engineerto join its collaborative team in our London office. This individual will serve a key function in managing as well as working on traffic & parking studies, master planning studies, traffic event management studies, and traffic signal/roadway design and infrastructure projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage and deliver on multiple high-profile and challenging traffic and transportation projects both locally and in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and perform the planning, analyses, design and permitting tasks for traffic/TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERing, land development, master planning, parking and infrastructure projects;
- Manage and deliver on multiple projects within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines. Prepare progress reports and draft change order requests. Prepare draft invoices, project billings, and assist in collection of payments;
- Coordinate and work with staff to determine the feasibility of projects based on the analysis of preliminary data and to prepare and modify reports, specifications, plans, and designs as needed;
- Organise, write, and edit draft proposals, reports, memoranda, and Traffic Impact and Parking studies;
- Participate in the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities, and attend business development meetings to pursue new clients;
- Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments. Coach, train, and motivate staff assigned to traffic/transportation, master planning and parking projects. Participate in interviewing and hiring staff;
- Interface effectively and professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, supervisors, and with firm’s other office locations/disciplines. Actively participate in internal and external technical presentations and produce written articles for internal and external publications; and perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering;
- 6+ years of experience in road, intersection, and traffic infrastructure design;
- Ability to effectively manage multiple clients and projects and to develop and manage project budgets;
- Experience with traffic computer modelling and simulation software, and industry standards/guidelines is required; Knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation are a plus;
- Ability to coach and assist with the management of staff;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment;
- Ability to participate in team meetings and conference calls in international time zones;
- Ability to travel and participate in field work; and
- Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
