I am currently recruiting for a Projects and Contracts Officer to work on behalf of my client, a leading public sector organisation based in Barnsley (S70).
We are seeking an experienced project officer to work with our childcare quality and sufficiency team as we undertake a significant programme of work to expand early years childcare and wraparound provision in line with government guidance. The role will include working with a number of stakeholders to ensure that there a sufficient childcare places available across the borough.
Duties of the Projects and Contracts Officer will include:
- Development and management of a series of programme or projects, including negotiation of deals with service delivery partners and with internally with the finance and legal team leads
- Management and monitoring of contract compliance
- Development of service specifications converting new policy and programme developments into project specifications and Contracts, following approved programme management protocols and requirements
- Producing reports/briefings/presentations to a high standard, delivering presentations if required
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience in project management including all aspects of the contracting procedure
- Experience in performance management, setting targets, plans and monitoring performance
- Experience in the key principles of contract management, contract law & procurement
- Experience of budget management
- Working knowledge of public sector procurement and contracting processes and requirements
This role is full time, 37 hours per week Monday- Friday, with a pay rate of £16.12 per hour PAYE or £19.91 via Umbrella.
