About Us
Meeting New Horizons delivers The Macmillan Benefits Advice & Advocacy Service in Doncaster which provides a one stop support service for people affected by Cancer, supporting people from the point of diagnosis through treatment and onwards. The service offers access to independent advice and information including benefit entitlement, advocacy and support at benefit Tribunals, and access to Macmillan and other charity grants.
The role
As Project Support Officer, you will form part of the team to deliver a Benefits Advice Service for people affected by cancer who reside within the boundary of Doncaster MBC. The aim of the service is to maximise the potential income of patients, helping to alleviate their stress and burden, and allow them to focus on their treatment and recovery.
You will provide a key role in supporting the team in all areas of administration, including maintaining accurate records and promoting efficient internal support systems for the Benefits Advisors and Service Manager. The role is office based and will support the service by implementing and maintaining systems, procedures, and policies, together with collating and recording statistics and preparing quarterly reports for submission to our funders within time limits. You will also be required to undergo training on Benefits Advice in order to give practical support to the Benefits Advisors and the Service Manager.
Package
The post has a starting salary of £21,000 pro rata with a wide range of access to training and personal development opportunities.
