The Market Drayton factory is on an exciting journey of development and continuous improvement. We have launched our Operational Excellence Manufacturing programme, and are looking for a Project Training Lead to help us shape our plans and support the development of our people to deliver superior results.
As part of this OpEx journey, we have a full agenda over the next 5 years, including implementing Autonomous Maintenance, Planned Maintenance and Continuous Improvement workstreams, as well as those covering Safety, Quality, Environment and Sustainability. All these require the support of the Training function to ensure we build the correct capability in our people to support our journey.
We are looking for a Project Training Lead who has had previous experience in factory transformations, and ideally involvement with delivery of Operational Excellence concepts. The successful candidate will help us define the people competence and capability programmes for our factory teams and have a key role to ensure they are implemented effectively. Leading a team of Trainers and Learning Designers, you will be supporting and coaching our line managers to deliver on their people development agendas.
We have a newly developed Muller Training Academy on site, to provide our people with an effective learning environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for continuing with the development of the facility and the ongoing effective use by the factory teams.
Reporting to the Site Training and Continuous Improvement Manager this role is suitable for someone who enjoys a challenge and is able to work under their own initiative and at pace. You will be working with all levels of the factory, therefore great communication skills are a must as well as an ability to inspire and motivate people. Our operation is 24/7 therefore the successful individual would need to be flexible around the hours they work, although nominally this is a days based role.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Lead Training Team to support deliver of the Operator and Engineering Competence frameworks
- Lead the creation of effective training material for all critical processes
- Own the Market Drayton Knowledge Management system (e.g. SOP's support the operation)
- Ensure the LMS is actively used across the site and use the data to identify learning interventions
- Support the development of a learning culture, using appropriate OpEx tools
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment, ideally exposure to Operational Excellence
- Leadership and Coaching experience
- High ability to influence others and posses effective communication skills
- Highly competent in Office IT Skills
- Experience of using Learning Management Systems (LMS), ideally SAP LMS
- Training Qualifications - Level 3 CIPD or equivalent, with a willingness to achieve Level 5
- Degree qualified or significant industry experience
