SalaryWe have a fantastic opportunity for an additional Property Acquisition Manager to join our growing UK retail business, reporting to our Property Director.
It’s an exciting time to join us here at B&M. We are one of the UK’s fastest growing retailers and a member of the FTSE 100. With over 740 UK Stores, and plans for continued growth at a rate of 40-50 new stores per annum.
The role will require 2-3 days per week at our Support Centre in Speke, Liverpool. L24.
The key accountabilities in the role are:
- Interact with Acquisitions, Store Development and Estates Team reporting to the Property Director to deliver new store acquisitions for B&M
- Issuing & agreeing Heads of Terms for the acquisition of “big box” retail units both standalone and in retail parks together with high street stores on a leasehold basis
- Responsible for property due diligence and detailed contract negotiations of leases and agreements for leases, working with internal colleagues to meet agreed handover dates
- Producing final summary reports for Property Director approval prior to transacting
- Ensuring transactions are progressed simply and ‘at B&M speed’
The skills/experience required are:
- An experienced Property Acquisition specialist ideally familiar with both OOT and high street retail acquisition work, competent to work at pace
- B&M is the UK’s 2nd largest occupier of retail parks and targets 1 million sq feet of new space every year. You must have the energy to handle personally 20+ acquisitions a year
- Gravitas, with the ability to negotiate well and commercially, always focused on the end result
- Tenacious with sound business judgement, able to question and challenge based on sound rationale and fact
- Awareness of the competitor market to ensure delivery of best-in-class commercial deals
- Approachable, with the ability to work autonomously and decisively whilst working closely with wider Property/Store development and Retail Operations teams
- Ideally with a RICS qualification
