Part Time Contract ( 3 months)
Novax Recruitment is actively seeking a Lawyer specialising in property based in Southwark. This is a contract without a scope for extension working part time hours.
Responsibilities include:

• Acting in connection with property disposals usually by way of auction and also on acquisitions of units which were previously subject to the Right to Buy legislation but which are now comprised within an organisation development scheme.
• Providing due diligence reports on title concerning sites which have been identified for redevelopment within the organisation's housing redevelopment scheme
• Assisting senior Property Lawyers with the preparation of Compulsory Purchase Orders which may involve advising on the preparation of evidence from organisation officers, briefing barristers and attending inquiries
• Acting in connection with the organisation's regular portfolio instructions which will include the grant of new leases, lease renewals, deeds of variation, deeds of surrender, licences and rent reviews
• Acting on behalf of the organisation as landowner concerning the grants of easements and covenants.

Experience and skills required:

• Must be admitted as a barrister or solicitor in the UK holding a current practice certificate
• Thorough up to date knowledge of all aspects of property law including residential and commercial conveyancing and development agreements
• At least 5 years of post qualification experience working as a solicitor/barrister in the field of property law preferably in local government
• Ability to use technology
• Willing to work part-time hours
