Proposals Engineer

Citrus Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced Proposals Engineer to join a manufacturer of equipment within the industrial sector.
Reporting directly to the Internal Sales Manager. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing existing business enquiries and providing essential customer services related to complex sales order processing activities.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of taking ownership for complex work, experienced in creating bill of materials, labour requirements and Hire & Logistic costs. You will work with engineering drawings 2D and 3D to help understand the customer's needs and requirements.

This is an office-based role in Kidderminster, the successful candidate must be able to travel there 5 days per week.
Responsibilities & day to day duties
As a Proposals Engineer you will be responsible for:
* Collaborate with the sales team to plan and engage with both existing and new customer accounts.
* Generate budgeted and formal quotations by creating bills of material, labour requirements, plant hire, and logistic costs.
* Develop and submit budget and technical quotations to support the sales team.
* Utilise and enhance the company's internal database to streamline the estimating procedure.
* Interpret 2D and 3D AutoCAD drawings, understanding specifications to meet customer requirements.
* Advocate for the use of company systems to improve customer acquisition, ensuring mutual benefits.
* Efficiently plan and execute quote processing within specified timeframes.
* Establish consistent communication with customers and suppliers.
* Coordinate with the marketing team to maximise efforts within operational territories.
* Collaborate with the operations team and customers in processing active sales orders.
* Assist with after-sales and service queries.
Skills & experience required.
As a Proposals Engineer we are looking for the following experience
* Similar experience doing complex quotations for customers, from engineering drawings AutoCAD drawings 2D and 3D.
* The ability to be technically and commercially compliant.
* Experience creating BOM, Labour requirements, Hire & Logistic costs.
* Experience creating and developing pricing models.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to maintain existing and build new relationships.
* The ability to initiate customer contact and generate technical enquiries with a commitment to follow through to execution.

* 20 days annual leave rising to 28 with years of service
