A manufacturer of process, automation and materials handling machine components is now looking for a Proposals Engineer / Technical Estimator to join their business.
Reporting to the Internal Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the management of existing and new business enquiries. Liaising with internal stakeholders, you will provide accurate estimates to customers, ensuring projects remain profitable and scope changes are managed in accordance with extra man-hours / machining.
As Proposals Engineer / Technical Estimator some of your responsibilities are listed below:
- Planning and interaction with existing and new customer accounts
- Produce and submit budget and formal quotations via BOMs (Bill of Materials) creation, labour requirements, plant hire and logistics costs.
- Utilise and develop internal databases to enhance the estimating procedure
- Plan and execution of quote processing within given timeframes
- Reading and understanding 2D, 3D and AutoCAD drawings, interpreting specifications to determine customer requirements
The ideal Proposals Engineer / Technical Estimator will be experienced with creating BOMs, Labour Requirements and Hire & Logistic costs in order to estimate projects accurately. Competence dealing with internal and external contact points at all levels is also essential.
Office hours are 09:00 - 17:00 Mon to Fri
Salary of up to £35K depending on experience
Initial hols 28 days (inc stats) plus 1 day per year of service up to 36 days (inc stats)
