Our client based in Whetstone is recruiting for a Prototyper to join them!
This client is a POS/POP manufacturer within temporary and permanent displays.
Position Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Prototyper to join our client. As a Prototype Engineer, you will play a crucial role in translating conceptual designs into tangible prototypes, facilitating the development and testing phases of new products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and manufacturing, to bring innovative ideas to life. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in prototyping technologies, materials, and processes, along with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Prototype Development:
- Lead the fabrication and assembly of prototypes based on design concepts and specifications.
- Utilize various prototyping technologies and methods, such as 3D printing, CNC machining, laser cutting, and traditional fabrication techniques.
- Ensure prototypes meet design requirements and functional objectives.
Material Selection:
- Evaluate and select appropriate materials for prototypes based on performance requirements, cost considerations, and manufacturability.
- Stay current with advancements in materials and manufacturing processes to enhance prototype quality and efficiency.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and manufacturing, to understand project goals and requirements.
- Participate in design reviews, providing input on feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and potential improvements.
Problem Solving:
- Identify and troubleshoot design and manufacturing challenges during the prototyping phase.
- Propose innovative solutions to address issues and optimize the prototyping process.
Documentation:
- Create detailed documentation of prototype designs, materials, and assembly processes.
- Maintain accurate records and update documentation as needed throughout the development cycle.
Testing and Evaluation:
- Conduct testing and performance evaluations on prototypes to validate design concepts.
- Collaborate with testing teams to gather feedback and make iterative improvements.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in prototyping.
- Propose and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Desired experience:
- -Experience within Acrylic Fabrication and production build techniques.
- -Experience with a variety of machinery including CNCS, Saws and Lasers.
- - Reading AutoCAD drawings
- -Following manufacturing procedures
- -Working to tight deadlines
