Temporary PT Elective Home Education Business Administrator

Pay rate: £15.03 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 25 Monday – Friday, normal working hours (Term time plus 3 weeks in school holidays)
This opening assignment is for 7-8 months

Minute taking skills and experience are essential for this role
A PT Elective Home Education Business Administrator is required to work in a small team and provide effective administration support in the delivery of Elective Home Education. Up to 25 hours per week worked over 4 or 5 days. Term time plus 3 weeks in school holidays. Working hours can be across four days of 6 hours or across 5 days at 5 hours a day and the hours could fit around school hours.
Key responsibilities:
Provide business administrative support for Elective Home Education.
Make and answer telephone calls dealing with enquiries.
Communicate with schools, parents, colleagues and other LA’s by telephone and e-mail.
Record information accurately on EHE and enter this on databases that are used to record information.
Support EHE Advisor on home visits for tracking and casework.
Attend meetings regarding EHE.
Search, maintain and update database and systems.
Send letters to parents/carers relating to Elective Home Education.
Proofread reports and correct prior to these being sent to the parent/carer.
Give advice and support to parents/carers, schools and other professionals about Elective Home Education.
Share information with other boroughs around Elective Home Education and Children Missing Education.
Minute meetings for the EWS.

Qualifications:
Minimum of a GCSE grade C or 5 in English Language, with strong written and spoken skills in English.
Experience:
Minute taking skills and experience are essential.
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Knowledge:
An understanding of the importance of confidentiality, inside and outside the workplace.
Knowledge of customer care, able to deal professionally with customers.
Knowledge of the education system and willingness to learn about Elective Home Education.
Skills & Abilities:
Competent with e-mail, excel, word and outlook and application in 365 and effective use of the internet (to produce high quality, clear and concise recording and documentation) as well as a willingness to learn how to use Synergy and Mosaic.
An interest in education and a willingness to learn about Elective Home Education (EHE).
Ability to communicate with schools, parents, colleagues and other Local Authorities by telephone, letter and e-mail.
Good communication and people skills with a good telephone manner.
Accurate and meticulous with good attention to detail.
Able to work in a team and complete a range of administration tasks.
Able to meet prioritise tasks, respond to changing demands and to meet deadlines and manage own time effectively.
Able to work under pressure, be flexible and use initiative, asking for and giving support as needed.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
