Purchase Ledger Clerk
Our client is currently seeking an experienced Purchase Ledger/accounts payable clerk to become a valuable addition to their team, specifically in this pivotal standalone Purchase Ledger role. This position demands not only expertise in Purchase Ledger/accounts payable functions but also places a significant emphasis on strong interpersonal skills. Given the need for interaction with various areas of the business, excellent communication and relationship-building abilities are crucial for success. Duties include:
- Timely entry of invoices into the accounts system, ensuring comprehensive and accurate records, including proper coding to the Nominal Ledger.
- Resolution of invoice discrepancies related to price and quantity variances.
- Careful reconciliation of inter-company accounts.
- Thorough reconciliation of supplier statements and diligent resolution of any discrepancies discovered.
- Handling the processing of consolidated payments.
- Efficient processing of manual payments.
- Preparation of supplier payment schedules, both in sterling and foreign currency.
- Continual optimisation of supplier payment terms.
- Organising and maintaining a systematic filing system for purchase invoices and orders.
- Providing support for Month End Activities, particularly with regards to Accruals.
The Candidate:
Ideally, this role is best suited for an individual who possesses certain key behavioral traits and is required to have extensive, high-volume Purchase Ledger experience. These include a strong commitment to accurate data entry, an acute attention to detail, and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines as they are set.
The role also requires effective prioritisation of workload, the capacity to work independently and proactively, and an adaptable and flexible approach to tasks. Moreover, a crucial aspect of this position is the ability to see tasks through to resolution, a willingness to learn, and the readiness to take on additional responsibilities. A positive attitude is highly valued in this role, as it is essential for someone who strives to exert 'control' over this specific area of the business.
Remuneration:
- Salary 25,000 - 28,000 per annum depending on experience.
- 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Friday, early finish on a Friday
- 35 days holiday including statutory days.
