Ideal Recruit are looking for a Purchasing Administrator to join our clients company in Skelmersdale. The successful candidate will be responsible for purchasing administrative tasks and ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods. This includes sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts and prices, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of Product Files
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure advantageous agreements.
- Maintain positive relationships with existing suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and address issues as they arrive.
- Generate and process purchase orders in an accurate and timely manner.
- Work with other departments in the business to assess and confirm purchasing needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Prepare and distribute purchasing reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Requirements:
- Have excellent communication, written and verbal skills.
- Be comfortable negotiating prices and challenging suppliers.
- Be able to use Microsoft Excel to an Intermediate or Advanced Level.
- Be punctual.
- Be able to follow instructions from team member and managers.
- Be able to work well as part of a team.
- Be able to use your initiative and organise yourself and workload.
- Have a great attention to detail and accuracy particularly at the point of data input.
- Have some knowledge of SAP (DESIRABLE)
