Purchasing Assistant
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 (depending on experience)
We are looking for a dedicated Purchasing Assistant to join a well-established organisation. This role involves processing orders, liaising with suppliers and customers, and assisting with various logistics and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, be proficient with computer systems and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Day to Day of the role:
- Process Sales Orders and raise Purchase Orders
- Handle sample requests and liaise with suppliers/customers regarding orders, schedules, deliveries, and disputes.
- Support Sales/Estimating teams with up-to-date price lists and order statuses.
- Book collections from overseas and schedule deliveries to UK sites.
- Prepare dispatch notes and manage the collections-deliveries log.
- Obtain proof of deliveries and assist with various ad hoc duties.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong customer service skills and proficiency in the Microsoft Office package.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with excellent attention to detail.
- Capable of multitasking while maintaining quality.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently.
- Team player who is adaptable to changes in the work environment.
- Must possess a high level of integrity and be a competent self-starter.
- Due to the office location, being a driver is essential.
