Job Overview:
I am currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Purchasing Assistant. This is an immediate start position, offering a competitive hourly rate of £12. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our procurement and project management functions, requiring excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Producing Purchase Orders:

   - Generate accurate and timely purchase orders based on requisitions and project requirements.
   - Ensure all necessary details, including quantities, specifications, and delivery timelines, are correctly documented.

1. Updating Project Costs:

   - Collaborate with the finance team to update project cost information and maintain accurate records.
   - Monitor and report any discrepancies in project cost data.

1. Progress Spreadsheet Updates:

   - Regularly update project progress spreadsheets to reflect the latest information.
   - Collaborate with project managers to obtain updates on timelines, milestones, and budgetary changes.

1. Excel and Word Proficiency:

   - Utilise advanced features of Microsoft Excel to analyse data, create reports, and streamline processes.
   - Demonstrate proficiency in Word for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes.

1. Stock Control (Depending on Experience):

   - If experienced, assist in managing and maintaining optimal stock levels.
   - Implement effective stock control measures to minimise shortages and excess inventory.
 
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a similar purchasing or administrative role is essential
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is essential.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities.
