CRP Group are recruiting a Purchasing Assistant on behalf of their client who are one of the largest wholesalers of vehicle parts in the UK, due to a period of growth and expansion within the business.
The main duties and responsibilities of the Purchasing Assistant will be:
- Assist on product development programme, liaise with current and potential suppliers regarding parts requirements.
- Negotiate with suppliers to ensure the business is remaining competitive.
- Manage suppliers to maintain service and availability levels.
- Analyse parts requirements using inhouse system and suggest and place orders with suppliers.
- Be involved in product introduction, marketing and product presentation.
- Meet with suppliers face to face and some travel to supplier and trade exhibitions.
The successful Purchasing Assistant will have/ be:
- Good communication skills and confident speaking to suppliers face to face and over the phone.
- Advanced level of knowledge using Microsoft such as Excel.
- Knowledge of forecasting systems.
- Knowledge of commercial vehicle/ trailer parts industry within a product/ purchasing and sales environment.
- Good negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of MAM auto part system would be an advantage but not essential.
- Good organisational skills and punctual.
