A world class, global manufacturing company are seeking an experienced Category Manager to join their team and production facility in Nottingham.
This is a great career opportunity where you will have the opportunity to work on technical products used in multiple industries from key suppliers. Experience with rubber, metal and plastic products would be highly advantageous.
As a Category Manager you will manage 6 x Supply Chain Specialists located globally. They will complete the day-to-day tasks of managing suppliers and incoming products, whilst you will be working on the strategic elements of supplier performance and identifying and cultivating new potential suppliers.

- Salary of c£60k - £65k (dependent on experience)
- £650 / month Company Car allowance
- Annual Bonus Scheme (up to 10%)
- Hybrid working - approx. 50/50 office to home and flex time on start time in office

Key responsibilities of Category Manager:
- Compile and maintain profiles of supply market and key suppliers
- Develop market sector strategies aligning to internal demands
- Utilise strategic sourcing within area of responsibility
- Use financial analysis and economic modelling to evaluate supplier proposal pricing and develop flexible contractual pricing models which accommodate inflation, currency, scope changes, and other areas of risk mitigation and cost control
- Provides on-going contract cost management and risk management
- Develop and implement supplier performance management strategies and measurement criteria
- Drive continuous improvement methodology in spend management processes and implement tactics to drive compliance across the company
- Develop, execute and manage supplier contracts and agreements
- Manage supplier relationships
- Work across business units with different objectives in the creation and implementation of procurement strategies for complex spend categories
Qualifications and skills required of Category Manager
- Ideally Degree qualified in similar field, or further relevant qualifications
- 7+ years’ experience in a Supply Chain / Purchasing role with rubber and plastics etc
- Experience as a Team Leader/manager, ideally across countries
- Strong negotiations, interpersonal and communications skills
- Experienced in analysing complex pricing proposals and compiling a strategic plan
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
